The Continuation of the Great Wall
In 220 B.C during the Qin Dyansty The Great WAll of Chinawas strated by the Emperor Qin Shi Huang who is also known for unification of Chinza and ending the period of the Warring States. The Great Wall of China was Oringinally many small walls built by the former states to keep enemies from attacking the states. The wall was originally made of bricks, stone, tramped earth and was supported by wood in most places. In 220 B.C China was very vunerable because they were recently unified this wall was primarily built after the Qin dyansty and worked on through most of the Ming dynasty and has been renovated multiple times since the fall of the Qin. THis walled was appproved by the emperor because he was afraid of attacks from the north by people like the mongols and other nomasic tribes that were a threat to the vunerable kingdom. In 221 B.c many of the labors were convicts and sometimes even high ranking soldiers because the emperor want to make sre that they had some sort of defense for the strong power to the North. After the Qin dynasty, though the wall was renovated many times the mongols eventuall got into China and formed what was known as the Yuan.
